A March of Haiku

1

Good omens I think

And fun conversations wait

For this lucky girl

2

A day spent in flight

A night spent deep in study

The hotel, muggy

3

Whispers and worries

Ladies stalk in high heels through

Air conditioned halls

4

Look! The Milky Way.

Careful, don’t turn your ankle.

A drink with new friends.

5

A future story

Like the ones we want to read

Someone must write it

perseid_and_milky_way

6

This medicine and

That medicine will cure you

But at some great cost

7

A gathering of

Neighbors prepared to serve and

Plan for the seasons

8

Fiery explosions

That may or may not happen

Vex gathered neighbors

9

Joy! I can help I

Know I can help just let me

Help you and yours soon

10

The wheels turn again

Meanwhile every bite you take

Turns lies to knowledge

12

Could this be a game?

You bet, you roll, you react

Imagine greatness

13

Did I laugh too loud?

Or was the joke too funny?

No one knows for sure.

14

Changing of the guard

I trade an old machine for

A new simple sound

15

The trapeze artist

Spins and swirls like sun and clouds

In a fickle sky

16

An itch in my mind

Strong as the wind blows outside

Patience gusts away

17

Sharing a warm night

An old friend and a new friend

Bring dreams and gossip

18

Many stops on the

Train reminds me of folly

Far away, felt here

19

Rage and gentleness

Coexist like chords of rest

And chords of movement

20

The world is still but

Not calm not even close since

The silence kept watch

21

Pieces play across

The board, dancing and singing

Without strategy

22

A sunset a beer

The wind in the Texas grass

We rest and debrief

23

Once over the moon

We celebrate with secret

Smiles and low whispers

24

Scant sleep early morn’

Days twenty six hours long full

Of humming music

25

A true day of rest

Rain dapples beautiful streets

With stuck plum blossoms

26

Lyin’ in bed still

Our love like a sous vide bath

Simmer ’til tender

27

Emails, flowing as

Swift as a stream yet pointless

As gluten free cake

28

Anticipation

My signature on the line

The future evolves

29

Now a joyful meal

Then a deep thoughtful talk and

Finally I’m still

30

A sunny spring day

A warm curried burrito

Tying up loose ends

31

The air is fuzzy

But full of clarity and

Possibility
